The hike typically begins in the early hours of the morning to reach the summit in time for the breathtaking sunrise, often described as a once-in-a-lifetime sight. The Pekoe Trail is a remarkable 300+ km long-distance walking route that weaves through the central highlands of Sri Lanka. Developed by Serendipity Trails, it is the first in a series of interconnected paths designed to showcase the country’s diverse landscapes, history, culture, cuisine, and local communities. The trail is divided into 22 stages, allowing you to choose between short segments for a day hike or a more extended multi-day trekking experience.
The vision behind the Pekoe Trail comes from adventurer Miguel Cunat, who spent years exploring the central highlands on foot. His passion for the region, combined with generous support and funding from the European Union (EU) and additional assistance from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), brought this extraordinary trail to life. The Pekoe Trail invites travelers to embark on a unique journey, discovering Sri Lanka’s hidden gems by foot and connecting with the heart and soul of the island.
Mirissa Beach stay

- The quoted price is based on current availability of rooms and may change due to tax adjustments, price fluctuations, or peak season supplements.
- Prices are based on cash payments. A service charge will apply for payments made via cheques, drafts, credit cards, or debit cards.
- Cancellations made within 45 days of the arrival date will incur a 100% charge of the total holiday cost.
- Standard check-in time is 2:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM, though some hotels may have slightly different policies.
